a collective of women and gender-nonconforming writers of the Vietnamese diaspora

in a collaborative poetry performance event with readings/performance by:

Aimee Phan, Dao Strom, Thao P. Nguyen, Anh-Hoa Nguyen, Isabelle Thuy Pelaud, Julie Thi Underhill, Stacey Tran and Trinh Mai. 

~This event is part of the United States of Asian America Festival USAAF 2018, presented by APICC (Asian Pacific Islander Cultural Center)~

*11:00-11:30 am -- Collaborative Poetry Presentation with all 8 readers
*11:30-12:00 PM -- Individual Readings/Performance by:
Dao Strom // Aimee Phan // Thao P. Nguyen

(these readings will take place in the 3rd Floor Vietnamese and Thai/Philippines Galleries)
*Gallery 9, 12:45-1pm -- Anh-Hoa Nguyen
*Gallery 10, 1:45-2pm -- Stacey Tran
*Gallery 11, 2:45-3pm -- Julie Thi Underhill

We will begin with a multi-voiced poetry performance in Samsung Hall in the morning, followed by individual pop-up readings in the gallery in the afternoon.

Readings include a mix of genres: poetry, fiction, spoken word/theater, sung-poetry, with visual art accompaniment in the form of video and mixed-media work. For this event, we will engage around the theme of#metoovietnamesebodies, voicing the #metoo movement’s challenging of sexual and power abuses from the perspective of our Southeast Asian and Vietnamese bodies.
